It Started The Majestic Auction House held it's first auction
November 8, 2004. The location on Truman Road in Independence,
Mo has been home to consignment auctions for many years and from
November until recently was under the management of Dave and Nancy
(Bunny) Nathan and Leroy Dillon. As of November, 2005 Leroy has
taken the "Colonel's" chair and is currently the sole
proprietor. Dave and Bunny were newcomers to the auction business
and although Bunny has found other interests, Dave has been a
fast learner and is currently one of the Majestic auctioneers.
Leroy is a retired auctioneer and is experienced in consignment
auctions and used furniture sales. This combination of youthful
energy and a Grampa's experience make each Majestic auction fun
and full of both ordinary and unique bargains.
Leroy - Items of Interest Leroy, also known as Grampa, was
in the used furniture business several years ago. He has "retired"
from stores at 12th & Benton, 12th & Bellfontaine and
12th & Jackson - all in Kansas City, Missouri. Consignment
auctions were held at the Bellfontaine and Jackson locations.
He also conducted many on-site auctions. He currently owns and
operates "Grampa's Used Furniture & Stuff". This
was started as a hobby but quickly became a full time project.
The name of Grampa is very fitting. He has been blessed with
8 children and 21 grandchildren. In addition, at last count,
there are 14 great-grandchildren with 2 more on the way. He
is also excited about "The Majestic Auction House"
and is looking forward to providing quality furniture, collectibles,
other bargains and an evening of fun.
Future Plans Leroy is always looking for ways to improve the
auction experience. At this time no small item consignments
will be accepted with the exception of premium glass items &
collectibles. He feels that by offering more quality and a variety
of good furniture a better auction will result. To accomplish
this, weekly auctions may be replaced by "Auction by Date
Announcement" on this web site and in the Kansas City Star
Sunday Auction Block. Furniture, complete estates and housefuls
will still be considered for consignments.
